Bulk texting is typically stopped by carrier filters, which then flag the number as spam or abusive. The following set of best practices will help you avoid this when sending bulk text messages. Please take a look.

  1. Identifying the customer by calling out name or number as if your acquaintance is shown, You can personalize the texts by adding the customer's first name or last name

  2. Identifying Yourself as the Sender, mention your service name in the text which will make the carrier notice the identity and reduce the chances of blocking

  3. Seeking the consent of the customer and providing them the ability to revoke their consent to receive notifications, adding OPT-OUT, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT. Filters at each notification's end.

  4. Keeping the message content short and reducing the number of notifications going out to a single customer. Carrier filters catch the messages that go very often, treat them as spam, nuisance, or abuse, and deliver Error 30007

  5. URL shortening: Do not send links that have been shortened using shared public URL shorteners, the messages with long URL links tend to discourage carrier policies resulting in blocking the service. Carriers are strictly intolerant towards the use of the shortened URL links such as TinyURL., bitly., etc. These shortened links are strictly prohibited in the texting and the usage of these links will lead to the message blocks.

Additionally, please refer to this short video attached as the link below that we have made on how to actually personalize the texts. https://www.loom.com/share/0890d2371a42467681126949c4648406

  6. Do not use Emojis, As for Emoji's, here is what carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, etc. recommend:
Even when the character restriction is within the carrier-recommended range, it is advised to avoid using emojis as much as possible because few carriers can break messages with emojis into segments and deliver them as separate messages.
Hence, please try to limit the usage of emojis as much as you can.

Hope this helps. Please write to us at [email protected] if you need our help in implementing any of these practices.
